How We Verify Every Number on This Site
Why we bother
Referral-code sites have a trust problem. Some advertise “up to $40” or “up to $50” in credits by quietly adding up bonus promos that ended in 2025. The truth as of July 2026 is simpler: a referral code gets a new Public Mobile customer a one-time $10 credit, and every valid code gives that exact same amount. We would rather be accurate than exciting, so we follow a fixed routine — and we show our work below.
The monthly check
Around the same date each month, we:
- Run a real activation to Step 4. We start a fresh activation on publicmobile.ca, pick a plan, and continue to Step 4 (Payment). We confirm the “Referral Code” field is still there, still separate from the “Promo code” field, and that the code shown on this site is accepted without an error. Then we stop before paying — no test accounts are created.
- Test the referral link. We open the deep-link format (
publicmobile.ca/en/{province}/plans?referral=CODE) and confirm the code pre-fills at checkout. - Re-check every dollar amount. We compare our pages against Public Mobile’s Refer-a-Friend help article and the Announcements board on the official community forum.
- Refresh the plan lineup. Public Mobile changes plans near-monthly, so anything price-related on our plans page gets re-verified too.
Where our numbers come from
We only treat Public Mobile’s own posts as proof. The core facts on this site trace to official announcements, including:
- The referrer reward of 1 Public Point per 30 days per active referral — set out in the Public Points launch announcement (January 25, 2022).
- The standard $10 new-customer credit, restated in the September 2025 referral bonus announcement.
- The 2025 “$15 bonus” rounds, documented in the May 2025 announcement — which is why we describe those amounts as expired promos, never as the current offer.
- The retroactive referral-credit process — a Public Mobile support agent confirmed in writing (December 2025) that a forgotten code can be added after activation via support ticket: the thread, on the official community.
When an official post and community hearsay disagree, the official post wins. When our page and an official post disagree, our page is wrong and gets fixed.
Verification log
| Date | What we checked | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-07-14 | Full checkout test: real activation run to the Payment step on subscribe.publicmobile.ca; referral deep link opened fresh | Deep link showed Public Mobile’s “You received a referral credit — $10” confirmation on arrival and pre-applied the code (visible as a chip in the “Referral Code” field); field label confirmed as “Referral Code”, separate from “Promotional Code”; stopped before payment. | 2026-07-14 | Every reward amount, promo status, and program term vs. official Public Mobile announcements and terms documents | Standard $10 new-customer credit confirmed; 1 point/30 days referrer reward confirmed; no bonus promo active; plan lineup refreshed (see changelog) |
The evidence from this month’s checkout test:
New rows are added after each monthly check. Offer changes between checks are recorded on the current offer page the day we confirm them. We don’t log tests we haven’t done.
Corrections
If you spot an error — a stale plan price, a promo we missed, a step that no longer matches the checkout — tell us through the contact page. We verify against official sources and aim to publish confirmed corrections within two days, with the change dated. If something goes wrong when you try to use a code, our fix guide covers the common causes.
One more piece of transparency: the referrer behind the code on this site earns 1 Public Point per 30 days for each active referral. That never changes what you get — the $10 credit is identical with any valid code. Full details are on how we earn.
Frequently asked questions
How often do you test the referral code?
Monthly. We start a real activation on publicmobile.ca and continue to Step 4 (Payment) to confirm the Referral Code field accepts the code, then stop before paying.
Why do some other sites promise more than $10?
They usually add up bonus promos that ended in 2025 and advertise the total as if it were current. As of July 2026 the standard offer is a one-time $10 credit, and every valid code gives the identical amount.
What happens when Public Mobile changes the offer?
We update the affected pages, refresh their modified date, and record the change with a date on the current offer page.
How do I report a mistake?
Send it through the contact page. We check the claim against official Public Mobile sources and aim to correct confirmed errors within two days.
Do you earn anything when someone uses the code on this site?
Yes — the referrer behind the code earns 1 Public Point per 30 days for each active referral. Your $10 credit is the same either way. Details are on how we earn.
